International Numismatic Congresses

The Council's principal responsibility is the International Numismatic Congress itself. The congress is held every six years (most recently in Glasgow in 2009; the next will be in 2015 in Taormina) and provides an international forum for scholarly exchange.

The congress also provides the occasion for publication of a Survey of Numismatic Research, a critical bibliography, which highlights recent developments in all areas of numismatics.

Congrès international de numismatique

La principale responsabilité du Bureau est celle de l'organisation du Congrès international de Numismatique. Celui-ci a lieu tous les six ans (le dernier en date s'est réuni à Glasgow en 2009; le prochain se tiendra à Taormine en 2015) et offre l'occasion d'un forum internationalde rencontres et d'échanges scientifiques.

C'est également l'occasion de publier un Survey of Numismatic Research, une bibliographie critique mettant en valeur les développements récents dans tous les domaines de la numismatique.
